Sometimes the word “missions” can conjure up images of thatched huts and spears in Africa. A picture of a person driving a modern-looking car through the busy, urban streets of Harare or Toronto might not be the first picture that comes to mind. Yet, all of that can be missions.
There are people who don’t know Jesus, and pastors or church leaders seeking more Bible education, and inner-city poor that need a helping hand to get ahead in life. And yes, amazingly enough, there are still vast numbers of people on this earth that live in huts out of the reach of the rest of society. Mark 16:15 states that we are to take the Good News and the love and compassion of Christ to all. Missions is Christ’s role for His followers.
